ACHA Contributed Australia Expertise to China International Forum on Elderly Health
Nov 16-17, 2019, China International Forum on Elderly Health was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong China. This is a national level forum co-hosted by the China National Committee on Ageing and Zhuhai City Government and organised by Chinese Association of Geriatric Research.
Senior representative from the national government Mr. Chen Zhu, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress delivered a special speech at the forum, and both domestic and international experts also attended at the forum and delivered presentations on ageing and health, including the member organisations of China National Committee on Ageing, National Health Commission, Provincial Committees on Ageing and other ageing institutes across the country.
Mr. Jason Sun and Ms. Allison Lovell were invited as ACHA representatives to give presentations.
Ms. Allison Lovell is the selected fellow in the ACHA and Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) joint program and she has been working in the hospital in China in 2019 and providing consultation on palliative care and hospital management. She is also the Vice President of Palliative Care Nurses Australia. She gave a keynote speech at the forum on End of Life Care for Elderly People which attracted a lot of interests and positive responses from the audience.
Mr. Jason Sun, the CEO of ACHA, introduced at the forum Australia’s healthcare system for elderly people and the collaborative opportunity between the two countries in ageing population. Mr. Sun has rich experiences working in Australian health sector and collaborative programs with China in healthcare.
