UprAsia Cohort 2 Accomplished with the China Trip

The Uprasia Founders Education Program Cohort 2 started its guided pathway to Asian markets in July 2019. 7 healthtech startups in Melbourne enrolled in the program and completed 8 weekly workshops and one-on-one expert consulting sessions, which has provided startups a better understanding of Asian, especially the Chinese health markets, and strengthened their capacities and confidence to entering Asia. International experts Mr. Qiang Li and Mr. Jun Liu were invited to deliver presentations for startups on regulation compliance and medical investment.

As the key component of the program, 4 enrolled startups joined the UprAsia trip to China market from 18 to 25 November 2019. They visited Nanchang, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and visited government officers, investors, local incubators, hospitals, healthcare organisations, manufacturing companies, and community services providers. The trip was intensive and it has helped the startups understand innovation and entrepreneur environment in China. During the trip, they also promoted their innovative products to potential partners, and received expertise advice on developing business strategy to enter the new market.

Participating startups spoke highly of the UprAsia program and the trip to China.
